How Long Should it Take You To Make Your First Profit In Your Online Business?

(Please Enjoy this post by Guest Blogger Ferny Ceballos)

Watch the video below as Lisa Grossman—my good friend, mentor, and 7-figure network marketing annual producer—shares with you the truth about how long it should actuallytake you to start earning a profit in your home business…

…and it’s a lot shorter than you may think!

As Lisa reveals, there’s a number ‘thrown around’ by Malcolm Gladwell, which states that it takes about 10,000 hours of work to gain mastery of a certain skill set or venture.

And while that may be true, it’s a bit misleading.

So how long should it take you to have your first “big win” in your business?

Watch this clip from last year’s No Excuses Summit with Lisa Grossman to find out!

Also, here’s a short text version of Lisa’s presentation, in case you’re in a hurry or prefer reading…

Today I’m going to give you some really good news…

This is the best news you’ll hear all year.

I saw a TED talk, but I didn’t quite believe it.

So I went out and validated it, and it’s true.

Have you heard that most horrible, horrible, horrible thing you’ll ever hear?

That it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert?

Have you heard that?

According to Malcolm Gladwell, it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert.

And you know what?

It’s so true.

It’s so true, but here’s the really good news…

Do you know how long it takes to become proficient at something?

See…

If you want to be Tim Erway at Internet marketing, it takes 10,000 hours.

If you want to be Michael Jordan at basketball, it takes 10,000 hours.

You want to be Eric Worre at network marketing, it takes 10,000 hours.

You want to be Arthur Ashe at tennis, it takes 10,000 hours.

But what if you just want to be a really good tennis player?

What if you want to get out on the golf course and shoot a 75?

What if you want to be a really, really good Internet marketer…

…who makes a really, really good living?

You know how many hours it takes to get GOOD skills?

29355_BlogBanner_081216-01

20.

20 hours.

Not 20 hours of prepping, not 20 hours of thinking about it.

Just 20 hours of actually DOING a skill.

And you will become good enough to get good results and make money.

If you take my space, network marketing…

Give me ANY person who’s afraid to get on the phone, contact, and invite people.

If they spend 20 hours actually contacting and inviting.

By the end of 20 hours, they will be really, really good at it.

They will be comfortable talking to people, and they will go through it.

The next time you think somebody tells you they don’t have time…

20 hours is:

1 week, 5 days, 4 hours

20 hours to learn how to do the skill, and the rest of your life building an incredibly fantastically successful community.

Now, and sharing it with other people, and investing the time in them.

Now I’m going to tell you…

Something I wish I knew when I first got started…

29355_BlogBanner_081216-02

I wish I learned this in the beginning…

This is from the other side of the success story.

When you get started in a home-based business, entrepreneurship, I don’t care what space you’re in…

You’re always going to end up at events.

The first one you go to, you know how everybody says…

“Oh, I went and I sat on the front row and took notes at my first event!”

No.

First event; we’re all at the BACK of the room when we start.

You’re at the back of the room.

Generally near a door.

Because you’re not really sure why you’re there, and you want to be close to the exit.

Somewhere in the first event, you see people talking on stage.

It dawns on you that…

YOU have to get on stage!

29355_BlogBanner_081216-03

I don’t mean you have to get on the stage like you’re dying to do it.

I mean, some people are.

Some people say…

“Oh my God, the stage! I was born for the stage. I’m going to be a great speaker.”

Some people say…

“Oh, my God, the idea of speaking in front of people scares me to death!”

But what you realize is this:

The stage equals success.

The people on the stage are experiencing what you think you want…

So you have to get on the stage.

That’s what you realize.

Sooner or later, you move to the front row.

And one day, you get on stage.

That’s all you can think about is getting on a stage.

Because that’s success.

You have a bucket list, right?

And on the bucket list are all these things you want.

They’re cars, houses, trips, a lot of things.

Those are great things, and you should want them.

But you know what?

They’ll bring you satisfaction for about 5 minutes.

Really.

Here’s the reality…

Yes, you WANT to get on stage!

And what do you realize when you finally get on it?

You want to get OFF as fast as you possibly can.

And you want to get OTHER people on stage to replace you.

Your job is to get on the stage.

Get off.

And get other people on who never thought they’d get on it themselves.

And teach them to do the same.

And get more and more new stories.

And get more and more new people on the stage.

Because that’s what we’re here to do.

Here’s the kicker…

The thing that you get the most out of, the thing that brings you the greatest happiness, the thing that you keep doing it for, and what keeps you going on and on and on and on…

Was NOT on your bucket list when you started.

You didn’t even think of it.

No one even told you why you do it…

And that’s JOY.

The #1 thing that every successful person does this for…

…is not for the cars and all that other stuff.

It’s for absolute, unmitigated JOY.

Every person who’s on the stage, they work like crazy.

They’re traveling all the time.

They work all the time.

Nobody’s looking for one more gig and one more plane ticket for the heck of it.

But it’s just a joy to know that you go out, and maybe something you say somewhere, maybe something you do somewhere…

Makes a difference in someone’s life.

Maybe they hear something that makes them say…

“Today’s my day.”

Maybe they get a glimmer of where they’re at.

And where they could be.

Maybe they’ll catch the bug too.

So realize it’s not about you anymore.

It’s not about you!

29355_BlogBanner_081216-04

If you think you’re good enough, it’s because you are.

If you think you deserve it, it’s because you do.

If you think you can, it’s because you can.

If you think you’re up to the task or not, it’s because you are.

It’s about all the people that need you to realize…

Now is YOUR time.

Because they can’t have THEIR time until YOU show up for them.

That’s what the community’s about.

You’re not here to get better for you.

Because all the people who already know you…

Are used to being you, in the way that you are right now.

You’re here for all the lives you will touch when you decide to step up and show up forthem.

And help make this community all that it can be.

Thank you very much

I love you all.

That concludes Lisa’s training, from the video above.

And there you have it, from a bona fide 7-figure earner.

It literally shouldn’t take you any longer than 20 hours…

29355_BlogBanner_081216-05

…of real, honest-to-goodness work to start doing WELL in your home business.

And I want to add something to what Lisa shared…

Because a requirement for this 20-hour-or-less rule to become a reality in your business is that…

You actually have a process that WORKS.

What’s missing in most marketing organizations is a clearly defined process for training new people, and quickly getting them into profit.

Now, I’m not talking about results.

I’m talking about actual profit.

When I discovered attraction marketing, which is a form of passively recruiting on the Internet, it was the first time someone had actually shared with me a process, meaning a step-by-step program for getting results within my first 2 weeks of taking action.

I made my first $300 in my business ever, and a few months later, made my first $10,000, all while working at home—instead of prospecting people in public places like we’re all taught.

Earning an income in your business is not hard

But it can seem extremely hard, if you’re following the wrong process.

Or, in the case of most network marketing companies, following people with no clearly defined training process at all.

What we teach here at Elite Marketing Pro is actually one of many approaches that works.

However, ours is the ONLY approach I have found which actually allows you to do it behind your computer or smartphone, turning your networking business into an actual home business.
